ABOUT US
Amazon Fishing Adventures was founded by Don Cutter, a retired businessman and lifelong international angler. Don originally hailed from Lexington, KY, but now splits his time at his residences in Kentucky, Florida and Manaus, Brazil. He parlayed a successful construction business into an early retirement, enabling him to pursue his fishing passions in the Amazon watershed. He relies on his business savvy, tremendous organizational skills and pleasing demeanor to handle the fishing operations from the states and in Brazil, plus sets the rules and guidelines on how the operations function on a day-to-day basis. Don scrutinizes every detail in the company's preparation for each group traveling to Brazil.
Don has spent many years and extensive resources fishing and studying the vast Amazon watershed of northern Brazil. His primary goal in establishing his sport fishing operation was to locate an extremely remote, lightly pressured watershed within the vast Rio Negro drainage to offer to his clients. He believes he has found the perfect location on the Unini River. Don has spared no expense in studying satellite imagery, surveying numerous tributaries in light aircraft and probing the rivers with small houseboats to discover prime peacock bass waters for their clients. In less than five years, Don Cutter's Amazon Fishing Adventures company has now established the gold standard by which other South American fishing operations are judged and is now one of the most popular and fastest growing operations in the Brazilian Amazon.
The formula for the rapid and sustained success of his company - the ability to offer anglers lightly pressured, remote fisheries, experienced guides, first class equipment, without sacrificing comfort. Don’s vision is to offer visiting anglers a hassle-free, memorable, first-class fishing adventure. A high percentage of client rebooking and phenomenal growth indicate that Don has indeed found the formula to be successful peacock bass operators.
